Third Date is a live band that plays original modern rock. The music is catchy, the lyrics are smart, and the stage show is undeniably engaging.
Third Date is a seriously Maker type of band. They've got a one-of-a-kind Fretted Theremin, a small Tesla Coil, and synchronized percussion lighting effects as part of the act - all designed and built totally from scratch by band members. Oh yeah, and the music is pretty darn good too.

GENRE
We all know that music can be a little hard to describe in words, but the genre that best fits our sound is simply "Rock". While our material is original, it is stylistically similar to what you might hear on San Francisco radio stations KFOG or Live105. It falls somewhere in the triangle outlined by Green Day, Dave Matthews, and the Rolling Stones. We have three sets of music that are "family friendly" and I think we'd fit in well with the Faire's atmosphere of high-minded creativity. The instrumentation is vocals, guitar, bass, drums, and of course that one-of-a-kind Fretted Theremin.

Third Date, has played at 12 Galaxies, 107.3 FM Radio, Bay Street Plaza, The Beale Street Bar & Grill, Beckett's Irish Pub, Black Butte Ranch, Blakes on Telegraph, Blondie's Bar, The California State Fair, Dago Mary's, The Dirty Martini, Golden Gate Park, Spreckels Temple of Music, The Grant and Green Saloon, The Hotel Utah Saloon, Ireland's 32, Maggie McGarry's, The Octopus Lounge, The Purple Onion, The Red Devil Lounge, The Rock-It-Room, the occasional corporate gig, and a handful of private house parties.
BEST BAND IN CALIFORNIA?
We had a strong showing in the 2006 Emergenza battle-of-the-bands Festival. Over the course of three appearances, we beat out 19 other bands in head-to-head competition, based on audience voting. This placed us in the top 4% of participating bands in California and advanced us well into the semi-final round.
