About the Maker(s)

Santa Cruz Institute for Particle Physics (SCIPP), UC Santa Cruz

The Santa Cruz Institute for Particle Physics' Outreach Program gets students electrified about learning physics using a Tesla Coil which generates dazzling electrical arcs about 5 feet (1.5 meters) in length. We bring our Tesla Coil Demonstration to many schools every year, to get students charged up to learn about physics! To find out more about Tesla Coils, our particular Tesla Coil, safety instructions regarding Tesla Coil operation, information about scheduling a Tesla Coil showing at your school, pictures and movies of the Tesla Coil in action, and cool links having to do with Tesla Coils, physics, and science in general, please check out our web site: http://scipp.ucsc.edu/outreach/tesla/teslacoil/ And, for all of our Outreach Activities: http://scipp.ucsc.edu/outreach/ SCIENCE IS FUN!!!
