Andrew Schneider

Andrew Schneider is a multimedia-artist and performer investigating human interdependence with technology and its implications. He is the co-founder and Associate-Artistic Director of the Chicago-based, not-for-profit experimental theatre company, bigpicturegroup, who's show .duck earned them a top 10 of the Chicago Fringe in 2006. Andrew's solo performance work has been featured at P.S. 122 as part of the Avant-Garde-Arama Series and at The Tank. Andrew also wrote and directed dependent|study as part of the New York City International Fringe Festival. Currently attaining his master's degree in Interactive Telecommunications, Andrew has lectured about his collaborative project, Generative Social Networking, at Upgrade! EYEBEAM and SUNY Purchase. His multimedia work has been featured on Wired, We-Make-Money-Not-Art, Gizmodo, Rocketboom, Treehugger, and MAKE: Blog. His invention, the Solar Bikini, will be featured in upcoming issues of BPM magazine and Wired Magazine. He received his BFA in Theatre Arts from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2003, where he was the recipient of the Larry Shue Memorial Playwriting award. Andrew will complete his Masters Degree at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU in May 2007.
