Maker Faire Austin 2008
Watercolor Painting
I am a scuba diver and underwater photographer. I use the photographs I take to create watercolor paintings of marine life and coral reefs. I also paint beach scenes, tropical subjects and flowers. I will be painting during the show and explaining my techniques and the materials I use in my work.

I was born in 1949 in Port Arthur, Texas, and graduated in 1972 from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fine Art. In 1973, I moved to Austin, Texas, where I enjoyed a 30-year career in cartography (mapmaking) and graphic design. In 2001, I began a new career in fine art. I specialize in painting marine life and tropical subjects in watercolor, and a few florals as well, mostly Texas wildflowers.
