The Bay Area hosts a particularly active community of kite aerial photographers. Local KAP artists will demonstrate several approaches to controlling an aerial camera including inexpensive robotic cradles, radio-controlled apparatus, and specialty panoramic rigs.

This year's kite aerial photography (KAP) booth will feature the images and apparatus of several Bay Area KAPpers including:
- Cris Benton, the Berkeley author of MAKE's original KAP article and moderator of the KAP Discussion Page.
- Elaine and Don Dvorak, who have been photographing Easter Island's Moai and local wetlands with video-assisted camera cradles.
- Ricardo Ferreira, a Bay Area visitor from Brazil; maker of kites that blend contemporary geometries with traditional framing materials.
- Scott Haefner, a prolific San Francisco aerial photographer who has pioneered techniques in aerial panoramas.
- Brooks Leffler, a Pacific Grove-based master builder of the only commercially available KAP cradles and editor of the influential Aerial Eye quarterly.
- Ben Peoples, Alameda Island's resident KAPper with a recent show on the landscape of the Naval Air Station after decommissioning.
- Sharon Kato, a relative newcomer who brings fresh eyes to the Bay Area KAP scene.
