Gretchen Elsner
Gretchen Elsner is a designer living and working in Vancouver. She hails from Athens, Georgia, and has travelled across the United States and Canada in performance of her works of book arts and offering her clothing designs. Consequently her work can be found across the continent in stores and in the private wardrobes of avid dressers. Elsner also specializes in the engineering of electronically active components made from conductive textiles to create soft hard ware, or soft-ware that she incorprates into her garments. Her work incorprates illustrations and embroidery, secret pockets, unique personal drafting, multi-directional reversible clothing, innovative closures and unconventional materials, combined with whimsy and superb craftsmanship. In the spirit of her dexterity and skill in the execution of her designs each piece is distinguished with a hand knit tag. When wearing a piece of her clothing, please be attentive to your body inside, and enjoy!
