I'll show construction kits for Platonic solids. Using a design printed on a single sheet of paper or card, you can turn the design into an intriguing 3D model of a Platonic solid. Included are popup dodecahedron calendar, tetrahedron pyramid puzzle, and cube of rotating cubes.

About the Maker(s)

Jeremy Smith
I'm an independent alife researcher, mainly in the area of computer modelling. (Alife is artificial life, a field that shares many avenues of study with complexity theory.) I'm still exploring models of physical processes, but eventually will get to chemical, then biological, then neural processes. Ideally I'd like to evolve novel synthetic processes. These explorations often produce stunning graphical outputs, which become tangential projects as artworks, some of which I'm beginning to display. The Platonic solids construction kits are mostly unrelated, and were developed for a local science and art festival last year, although can be considered such a tangential project.
