About the Maker(s)

Peter Vieth Peter Vieth
Four years of riding to campus in UC Davis' bovine scented head wind, arriving sweaty and late to class, and welding tutelage under Jim Rumsey at UCD's WCAE prepared Peter Vieth for his post-graduation years. An engineer fascinated with modes of transportation since childhood when he watched cars drive by in Poland and now reenergized by the elaborate public transport and pedestrian and bicycle facilities of Japan and Europe, Peter has been pursuing how engineering, technology, and human power can deliver cheap and efficient travel for the masses-- far cheaper and more efficient than mainstream media presents. Working with high school friend Ben Krasnow they built his first recumbent bicycle using an office chair and his old mountain bike. That started work on a series of different electric bicycle designs that continues today. Most recently he has focused on refining the existing designs by networking with other frame builders and electric bike enthusiasts. His goals are to create fun, efficient vehicles and excitement around alternative transportation while minimizing waste, complexity, and cost so superior transportation can be accessible to the public. sign bio: An engineer facinated with modes of transportation since childhood, Peter has been pursuing how engineering, technology, and human power can deliver cheap and efficient travel for the masses.
