Make Magazine Podcast Named to iTunes' Best of 2007 Podcasts

"MAKE: Weekend Projects" Included Among "Classics" Category

Sebastopol, CA (December 17, 2007): The Make magazine podcast, "MAKE: Weekend Projects" was included on iTunes' 2007 year-end list of the best podcasts. The podcast was honored in the "Classics" category.

Incredibly popular, MAKE: Weekend Projects averaged about a million views per month through iTunes, Blip.tv and YouTube. The weekly how-to podcasts tackle a host of fun projects, some examples include:

  • $3 Origami: make a creative origami "flower" from three one dollar bills
  • DIY Wallet: keep your dollar bills in a wallet made from duct tape
  • Homemade T-shirts: learn how to screen print any pattern you want, plus more

The podcasts are hosted and produced by Bre Pettis, an ex-science teacher from Seattle. "My passion has always been tinkering—making things with my hands and being creative. Through MAKE: Weekend Projects I get to do this full-time, so it's really been a dream come true," explained Mr. Pettis.

MAKE: Weekend Projects began accepting sponsorship in 2007. The podcast was previously sponsored by Microchip and the current sponsor is Ponoko.
