I made a 3d body scanner for my final last year at school. I just took it to SIGGRAPH 2013 in Anaheim, CA. Everyone really liked it. I can scan you in 3d and then print you out with a 3d printer. You get a action figure of yourself!

I got involved with the maker movement through movie prop replication. On the Replica Prop Forum, people spend a lot of time and pay incredible attention to detail to identify parts of screen used props in films and TV shows. The parts which are never identified or were created from scratch for the orignal film prop must be recreated by traditional sculpting, or now more and more with 3d printing. I will talk about how I use 3d printing to model and manufacture movie prop replicas like the green lantern ring, and will tell the story of m first movie prop replica project, recreating the Sonix Victory 75 radio used on Sandtrooper backpacks.
