Bash the Trash Demo Show

Bash the Trash builds, performs and educates with instruments made from reused materials. Our performers will take participants on a journey of science, sound and sustainability, using demonstration, hands-on participation and group performance. Audience members will learn how instruments work and how to make and experiment with their own.


Batterie-en-Valise: music for two percussionists and five suitcases

Performer

Part found-object sound sculpture, part new music performance, and part interactive conversation about human relationships with objects. A set of vintage suitcases mount dangling curiosities & repurposed harmonic assemblages.

Celebration – playing the Happiest Music On Earth

My project is a Carousel Band Organ, called Celebration. It has 122 hand crafted pipes of brass and wood. The pipes resonate and speak by air pressure. It uses 3 micros; Arduino Mega, Arduino Uno, Midio128 controller, and is operated wirelessly via a custom Android tablet app.

The Life Size Mousetrap is a fantastically hand crafted, 16 piece, 50,000-lb. interactive kinetic sculpture set atop a 6,500-square-foot game board. This giant Rube Goldberg style contraption comes complete with a Vaudevillian style show, original Musical score by the one woman band Esmerelda Strange, Sexy Mice can-can dancers, clown workers, acrobatic hi jinks, and other spectacular scenes dedicated to the pursuit of spectacle-laden fun!
