We'd like to tell the story behind Roominate, what inspired us and got us started. As two female engineers, we saw a lack of women around us so we set out to build a toy that would get little girls engineering and creating. We'll talk about how we took the idea and built it into a product and then into a company, as well as the highs, lows, and numerous challenges along the way. We'll also give tips to other Makers looking to get their idea/product out to a mass market and build a sustainable company. We'll also reinforce our mission: empowering the next generation of STEM women by changing the way girls play.
