Jimmy DiResta

Artist, Inventor, Designer, Builder Jimmy DiResta began his career in 1990, when he earned his BFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He has been teaching 3-D design and illustration there at SVA for the past 19 years. Jimmy has spent most of the past 23 years in the toy industry inventing, designing and developing products. He holds over 20 patents. 2008 He opened DiResta Unlimited Inc. that specializes in building custom fixtures for interiors. His engineering skills and a love of 3D design allow him to express his whimsical and artistic streak through woodworking and metal fabrication. Jimmy occasionally gets to shows off his skills on TV: He hosted Against The Grain on the DIY Network. Together he and his brother, John, hosted Hammered also on the DIY Network. Most recently he stared in Dirty Money on the Discovery network. The show focuses on building cool stuff from fodder found in the trash & selling the new designs at flea markets around NYC. Jimmy can also be seen building a varity of products 24/7/365 on youtube. He has his own channel and also provides a new movie every 2 weeks on the Make channel.
