NYSCI's Maker Space presents woodworking for makers of all ages. Families with young children are invited to explore hand tools and materials, practice using hammers, nails and sandpaper, and use their creative skills to design and build their own wooden creation.

Presenters:

David Wells — Manager of Creative Making & Learning

New York Hall of Science

David Wells is a multi-media artist and educator who develops and facilitates programming for the Maker Space at NYSCI. He received his master's degree in Museum Education from Bank Street.

Janella Watson — Director of Early Childhood Education

New York Hall of Science

Janella works to nurture curiosity, creativity and experimentation in young children by developing STEM-rich family programs that reflect NYSCI's Design-Make-Play philosophy.
