My talk is about my Scottish Grandmother, who was a Mill worker in the Coats Thread Mill from the age of 14 and how she taught me to crochet at a young age. I went on to pass the knowledge of crochet down to my own children and how important it is to pass on our knowledge to others.

I have always made things and been passionate about Crafts. It was my Scottish Grandmother who taught me to crochet when I was a child and I learned how to make Granny Squares. More recently I self-taught myself Amigurumi (Japanese Crochet toys) and began writing patterns (they are free on my blog). I give away free patterns for crochet flowers on my blog too. Recently I have been upcycling handbags and hats with a 'free-style crochet' covering. I enjoy looking at used, unwanted items and thinking up ways to make something new and unique.
