This panel brings together talented designers Todd Blatt, Kacie Hultgren, Tony Buser, Matt Stultz and Fred Kahl - all featured in Matthew Griffin's upcoming book "Design and Modeling for 3D Printing;" (Early Release, Sept 2013). Each will share about their design practice -- how they got started, how they develop their work, what new tools and techniques they are picking up -- as well as opportunities to learn more about their design work elsewhere at this year's Faire. Moderator Griffin will also share leads for other breaking 3D-related design and printing technology attendees can check out.
Matthew Griffin — Director of Community & Support
Matthew Griffin is a contributor to Make Magazine on topics of 3D printing, including the first two editions of Make's "Ultimate Guide to 3D Printing", the Make Toolbox, and Skill Builders.
Tony Buser is a senior web developer at MakerBot and tinkers in all aspects of 3D printing. As prolific contributor on Thingiverse, he loves mashups, parametric modeling, 3D scanning, and especially lawn gnomes.
I was co-founder and president of HackPittsburgh, an ex-MakerBotter, and founder of 3D Printing Providence. I want to help spread the knowledge I have acquired through these endevours with everyone.
Kacie Hultgren is a theatrical scenic designer and 3D printing enthusiast best known for her 3D printed miniature furniture.
Fred Kahl aka. Coney Island's Great Fredini is a sword swallowing sideshow showman, burlesque gameshow host, artistic impressario and 3D printing maker extrordinaire!
