Simon Monk is a Maker and Author, specializing in Open Source Hardware, electronics and in particular Arduino, Raspberry Pi and micro:bit. His best known books are 'Programming Arduino: Getting Started with Sketches','Programming Raspberry Pi: Getting Started with Python', 'Hacking Electronics' and the 'Raspberry Pi Cookbook'.

In this session I will demonstrate the micro:bit, look at programming options and how external electronics can be connected to it.
What inspired you to begin investigating your topic or inspired you to make your project?:
The BBC micro:bit was developed as a tool for education. However, it also provides a great platform for Maker Projects by using its built-in sensors and attaching electronics to its edge connector.
