Assistive technology - helping the disabled and blind with simple electronics

Vibration and rotation based distance sensing blind cane devices help blind to avoid obstacles and navigate surroundings. Also, see how switches can be operated with Amazon Alexa using one of these devices. Kids - play with music playing crocodile!

What inspired you to make this project?:
I did a project in my 5th grade to compare acoustic properties of materials.
Once I spoke to a blind kid and thought if I could help them some way.
I got an idea to use a motor with distance sensor to help people with vision problems.
I enhanced my project after having the opportunity to meet with several blind people during 2016 world maker faire.
I would like to make their lives better by making this technology available and making it more practical and usable.
