Kuntal Joardar
Kuntal has a degree in electrical engineering and has been in the semiconductor industry for several years. Outside work, he is a DIY hobbyist and his current interests are in the areas of low-cost home automation and IoT.
Rounok Joardar
Rounok has a degree in electrical engineering and initiated the Etherlux project while he was in college. Of late, he has mostly been involved in field testing Etherlux prototypes.
Etherlux is a low-cost Raspberry Pi based internet controlled smart power outlet system that allows far greater control than what is available today in similar units. Timed outputs, power monitoring, PWM dimming, and current limit, are some examples.
What inspired you to make this project?:
Etherlux was initiated in 2016 by Rounok as a college senior. Over his four years through the many classes he attended, the many tests he took, and the numerous projects he completed he felt like he learned a lot but was constantly bugged by whether or not he could apply all that stuff to actually make something works and serves a purpose. Etherlux came out of that. He needed a way to control the lights and fans in his apartment. Together we got it done... and then some.
