Alisa learned crochet from her grandmother. She finds great comfort in the repetition of patterns, and the enjoyment of creating tangible projects. Her closet is filled with a rainbow of colorful, cozy scarves.
Crochet patterns have a code of their own. What looks like a foreign language actually contains its own unique terms, and the ability to establish functions that combine several instructions into a single line of code.
What inspired you to make this project?:
I work online all day, every day, often on long-term projects that seem to have no end. Crocheting came out of a need to create something tangible: there's a start and finish, and something to hold in your hand (or wrap around your neck) at the end of the day. It also keeps me off the internet at night, which improves me sanity.
