Bryanne Leeming
Bryanne is the founder of JumpSmart, a hardware toy company. She studied Cognitive Science at McGill University and business at Babson College. She loves making products that combine movement with learning.
JumpSmart creates hardware toys for kids to get them up off the couch and moving around! We make step-sensing, light-up, sound-producing, programmable floor tiles that kids can play games on the and make games for using Scratch.
What inspired you to make this project?:
I was inspired to make this project because of the statistics I was seeing about kids not getting enough exercise today. Most kids get about 6 hours of screen time per day, and less than an hour of physical activity. I wanted to create a product that used technology kids would love to encourage physical activity. I also have been inspired by the growing excitement around coding for kids and I wanted to create this as a new way to bring new kids into coding!
