Andrew Reed is a tinkerer at heart and started in electronics at 14. First was microchips and casting jewelry, then at 19 worked for a PCB design/mfg co and learned to program. Years later, cubesats woke his dream of space and a Cosmoneer was born
Cosmos Pioneering presents the Cosmoneer Proto, a spacecraft simulator designed to engage problem solving
of real-world challenges encountered in space without the risk and expense of actually going there.
What inspired you to make this project?:
While looking for remote controlled helicopter parts, I came across an article about the Ardusat, a 4" cubesat satellite kickstarter campaign to launch a publically funded microcontroller satellie. There was nothing I couldn't do myself to build a similar satellite, so I built one for myself out of calculator solar cells and a solar engine.
