What inspired you to make this project?:
That's hard to say. We're always building something. This project we made originally for a music festival. They wanted to show off Sacramento's maker culture and promised that they'd cover the materials for whatever sort of thing we wanted to build.

I think this idea started with a discussion about building a life sized version of the game Operation. That led us down a path of all sorts of different ideas about how regular people could grab something or twist something to interact with a simple circuit to change how it behaved in a satisfying way.

From there we somehow settled on big spinning LED towers.
