We make LEDs easy for DIY. For over a decade, we have supported the arts with our technology backgrounds. Now we want to share our skills with the makerverse.

Makerspace School Projects

Exhibit

High school students from our pilot group of 15 Makerspace schools will be exhibiting their final projects. Projects may include converted go-karts, knitted skirts, bicycle-wheel basketball hoops, and stained glass!

I've had a sideline business/hobby for 40 years designing and illustrating silly, whimsical, unusual, plausible, and sometimes prophetic inventions and systems. I love to share what I do as well as sell my signed books and limited edition prints.

Pedal car built exclusively for the Death Defying Pedal Car Figure 8 Races. Modeled after a Ford Model T and the Bugatti race vehicles of the 1920's. Adjustable "differential" for chain tension and low center of gravity for superior handling.

A 30 mph, 30 mile range, 1 hour recharging, 1000+ MPGe electric recumbent tadpole cargo trike compatible with XtraCycle equipment and accessories. All Shimano 27-speed components and grip shifters. No pedaling necessary.

Ponga rediscovers the art of Show & Tell! You put love into everything you make, now you can share what you love about your Maker project with the world. Show Ponga what you've made and together we'll tell the world.


Social Revolution (2-person tricycle)

Exhibit

After many years of design work, I've perfected the perfect Burning Man vehicle. Upon returning from Burning Man, I've discovered that my tricycle is perfect around the city for running errands. I hope to go into production and change the world.


Steamboat Ed’s Mechanical Whatsits

Hybrid pedal/electric trike with PWM control and a 3hp 24V motor.


Steamroller Racing Team

Exhibit

The Steamroller team has participated in Kinetic Sculpture Racing for ten years, and now we also do the Maker Fair pedal car races held by Fun Bike Unicorn Club. Strictly home-whittled vehicles, largely with scrap materials.


Tandem Scooter

Exhibit

Double the fun on a Tandem Scooter. Great for a cruise by the beach, it allows couples to be together, and helps people learn to skateboard. Easy to use, they are adult-friendly fun and great exercise!

Learn the unlimited power of Total Control Lighting -- individually addressable LEDs. Benjamin James will demonstrate the brilliant beauty of this open-source and affordable product line.


The Bike-Powered Cardboard Rhinoceros

Exhibit

The Bike-Powered Cardboard Rhinoceros is a large-scale interactive sculpture. Participants can ride the bike and make the Rhino's large cardboard legs and head move.
