Furby Youth Choir is a small army of modified Furbys which together produce a surreal and stochastic cacophony of tones, buzzes, squeals, and glitched-out demented laughter. Newly installed switches and potentiometers offer some degree of control, but the aleatoric sounds emerging from the bent circuits frequently surprise even the conductor of this robotic choir.

Arduino is the open-source microcontroller platform that's become the platform of choice for makers creating everything from functional systems to interactive art installations. Tom Igoe, author of Making Things Talk and professor at NYU's ITP program, will introduce Arduino, what it does and where it came from. We'll showcase a a variety of cool projects based on Arduino. Tom will demo a project, using an accelerometer with Arduino and Processing to move something onscreen. Nathan Seidle of Sparkfun Electronics and several students from NYU's will also present.

Robots, Robots, Robots
The LASA Robotics team showcases and demonstrates competition robots from previous years, ranging from small, knee-height robots to 5 foot, 120 pound machines. Come and get an explanation on how the team incorporated elements of smart engineering into their design process in order to create a better competition robot, and additionally, how the team developed and pioneered new innovations that aided various functions of the robot such as fluidity, control, and ergonomics. Also on display will be the team's award-winning documentation describing the competition process in the form of engineering notebooks.

This art car is a 1987 Chevy Caprice Classic with welded steel, found objects, and paint. The vinyl roof has been replaced with smashed aluminum pot lids. It looks great transporting six people in comfort and creative style.
