Fire Truck Solar Stage , Saturday 5:00 PM

Scott Specht
MegaModel
MegaModel is a large, abstract, continually growing model that can be interpreted as a futuristic cityscape, or some other densely-packed landscape. More than simply a model, it is a kinetic sculpture that contains lights, motors, and many moving parts. It was constructed over a period of two years from recycled plastic packaging, found objects such as radio tubes and ice-cube trays, and a multitude of other recognizable and unrecognizable objects. The model is nine feet long, five feet high, and approximately three feet deep. I will be adding to the model and inviting others to build as well.

Seven Sexton
The Planck
The Planck is a 7 stringed musical instrument that lays horizontally and is played by tapping. I will also be showing, with the help of Joe DiPrima from Arcattack, a 'singing' Planck which will infinitely sustain notes played.

Shane Lauder
Sideshow Tramps
Sideshow Tramps consider themselves to be stewards of past musical eras, with a specialty in turn of the century Americana and all of it's migrant influences. One might compare the music they create to a days proceedings on Ellis Island where the interviews involve chords instead of words.

Appearance(s)
Fire Truck Solar Stage , Sunday 2:00 PM

Sharon Blackwell
Metal Brazing and Welding
Our demonstrations allow people to see metal brazed and welded together. This is interesting because it shows how the heat source melts filler metal and draws it into the joint by capillary action. It creates a metallurgical bond between the filler metal and part surfaces.

Shauna Smith
First Samples Sewing and Design

shawn corder
metal art
My sculptures are made of at least 50% recycled metal such as fire extinguishers, car parts, and industrial scrap. The projects range from fire ants to 3 dimensional abstract pieces.

Shawn Wallace
The Hair and Balanced TV Filter
The Hair and Balanced TV Filter taps into the composite video input to your TV, detects whether you are watching talking head pundits or newscasters, then draws moustaches on the faces on the screen. The TV filter is a new kind of hardware shield that helps users take control of their screen. I use mine on Fox News, to remind myself that Fox isn't real journalism.

Appearance(s)
Maker Stage , Sunday 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM

Shelly Hattan
Knitted socks in two hours!
Circular sock machines have been around since the early 1900's and were built so sturdily that they still survive and work to this day. The machines were originally advertised as a way for homemakers to make money at home by cranking out socks, but the learning curve was really high. Currently, there are a number of enthusiasts around the globe who help each other figure out how to use these really nifty antique machines.
